1967 ~ 2014
Bryan Todd Maughan valiantly fought a 2-year, 9-month battle with mucosal melanoma cancer. On October 30, 2014, he won that battle by returning home to begin his next great adventure. Bryan was born on March 31, 1967 in Salt Lake City to Gerald and Janice Maughan. He graduated from Brighton High School and served a faithful LDS mission in Independence, MO. On July 16, 1988, he was sealed to his sweetheart Michele in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. 
Bryan began life with a zeal for travel (rode the bus by himself to Lagoon at age 11), and took his family on many great adventures throughout the world. Because of him his kids were able to see how many different cultures live, and appreciate the bounties we enjoy in this great nation. He was a master carpenter, and went from owning a small woodworking business in his teens to becoming a general contractor who built houses and commercial buildings, and he could fix anything. 
He is survived by his loving eternal companion, Michele; his children, Andrew (Kaity), Matthew (Morgan), Kelsie (Bronson), and Savannah, and new grandson, Lincoln; his parents, Janice and Gerald, sisters Kristine and Katherine, brother Jason, nieces and nephews and many other loved ones. He is preceded in death by his brother Greg, and his son Daniel.
He was blessed with an extended life by his positive attitude and much prayer and fasting by many friends and family. He was grateful to be able to witness the marriages of his three older children, and the birth of his first grandson. He was able to take several "bucket list" trips with his parents and family to Flaming Gorge, a cruise to the Caribbean and other places while he was still strong.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8th at the Riverton Copperview Stake Center located on 12154 South 3600 West at 12:00 PM, with a viewing at 10:00 AM. prior.
