Carl Brandt

Deseret News, Nov 13, 1998. Carl Franklin Brandt died at McKay-Dee Hospital Tuesday, November 10, 1998. He was born August 29, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah where he resided the majority of his life. Carl was bright, gentle, sensitive, and peace loving. He was an artist who enjoyed drawing, carving walking sticks and writing poetry. He loved God. Now he is free from the debilitating disease with which he struggled and suffered for most of his life.

His father, Thomas C. Brandt of Salt Lake City preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Jo Brandt, his daughter Erin of whom he was very proud, and brothers and sisters Chris Hall, Conrad and Susan Brandt, Libby and Brent Lowther, Rebecca and Chris Hample, nieces and nephews Jennifer Hall, Andy Brandt and T.J. Lowther. We will miss him.A service will be held at noon on Monday, November 16th at Skaggs Memorial Chapel in the First Baptist Church of Salt Lake City, 777 So. 1300 E. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in his name to St. Ann's Center, 137 West Binford, Ogden, UT 84401, St. Vincent de Paul's, 437 W. 200 So, SLC, UT 84101, or Salvation Army, 252 So. 500 E., SLC, UT 84102. The family wishes to express their appreciation to those who cared about Carl over the years and to the hospital staff who tried to comfort him and save his life.

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:28-29

Carl and I were best friends for many years. I will always miss him though our paths separated a few years before he died. I believe it was 88 but I will find out and post it here if anyone really wants to know.

Carl Franklin Brandt died of injuries November 13, 1998. He was survived by his parents and siblings, Chris, Conrad and Libby.
