In Memory

Bruce Nicholson

Bruce I. Nicholson 5/1951 ~ 5/2007 It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friend, Bruce Nicholson. Bruce was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Angus Irvine and Carol Staats Nicholson on May 15, 1951. He happily grew up in Northern California and Salt Lake City. As a young boy, he developed his passion for baseball by spending afternoons with his mother perched above Candlestick Park watching his favorite teams. His little league team was the San Quentin Giants. He returned to Utah with his family and grew up on the avenues, graduating from East High School in 1969. Bruce "Nick" was a man of many talents. He opened "B. Nicholson and Company", one of the first stores to open in Trolley Square. He also was a very successful car salesman in California, Texas and Utah and loved those "Caddies". He could not eat anything that swam and his steaks had to be very well done. He will be remembered for his hilarious stories and sense of humor, his selfless generosity, impeccable manners, his dashing, classic attire, and was always good for a "goose". He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and proud of his sobriety. Bruce leaves behind his daughter, Whitney, whom he cherished; sister, Christine Hoover (Howard); nieces, Laurel Ashley and Carolee Anne; his best friends Hazel and Pixxy; life long friends Elizabeth ("Tidbit") Aadnesen and her boys, Aric, Brian, Nicholas and many other admirers. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Salt Lake City Cemetery, entering in the gate at 920 East & 11th Avenue, just east of the fire station. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in honor of Bruce to: The Haven, 974 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84102.
