Grant G. Wells VIEW PROFILE

Grant G. Wells

Grant G. Wells, 73, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on November 15, 2025. Born in Gunnison, Utah, Grant lived a life marked by strength, loyalty, and deep love for the people around him.

A proud athlete, Grant played football for BYU. He later built a fulfilling career as a high-voltage power line technician for the City of Azusa, California, and later served his community as a substitute teacher in Salt Lake City, Utah. He had a passion for craftsmanship—especially guns, knives, and swords—and took great pride in creating pieces that reflected his skill and creativity. Grant also loved gardening and could often be found tending to his plants, as well as watching history shows that fueled his curiosity and appreciation for the past.

Grant was a king among men: steady, loving, and generous. His big, bellowing voice carried wherever he went—everyone knew when Grant was around. His booming laughter and unforgettable presence brought warmth and energy into every room. He touched the lives of all who knew him and was known for his big heart, his humor, and his ability to make each person feel valued. He had many friends and neighbors whom he cared for deeply, and he will be missed dearly by all who loved him.

He is survived by his son, Ayza “Oz” Wells (Jessica Wells), and his grandsons, Kade and Conner Wells, who brought him tremendous joy. He is also survived by his sister Rosalie Bertrand; his nephew Burt Bertrand; his niece Dawn Orn (Mel Lambert); and many other nieces and nephews who held him dearly in their hearts.

Grant’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the stories he leaves behind.

Celebration of Life to follow soon.
