Larry Morton  -  1952 - 2021

Larry was born on May 29th, 1952 and passed away on November 17th, 2021 at the age of 69

Our loving, faithful and exceptionally witty dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend and most importantly eternal companion, passed away surrounded by his loving wife and children in the early hours Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Larry Glenn Morton was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to goodly parents, Glenn William Morton and Elsie Minnie Mauerman on May 29, 1952.

Larry met the woman of his dreams Ann Derrick when she and her family moved into his ward while they were still in primary. They began dating in high school and never looked back. After graduation, Larry enlisted in the United States Army Reserves. Upon returning from basic training he and Ann were sealed together for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple May 10, 1973.

Larry was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served in many callings throughout his life. In his retirement years he was able to serve a four year mission at the Global Services Center in Salt Lake City. He was born with the spiritual gift of discernment. He had an unwavering testimony with a deep love and a great knowledge and understanding of the gospel.

Larry worked in the printing industry and was a business owner for over 45 years.

Larry is survived by his wife Ann, his 5 children and their spouses: Brandon (Trisha) Morton, Holly (Jeremy) Mecham, Bradley (Christy) Morton, Jeffery (Jessica) Morton, Steven Morton and his 13 little rascals (grandchildren) He faithfully joins his parents: Glenn William Morton and Elsie Minnie Mauerman Morton, in-laws: Robert Earl Derrick and Nancy Anderson Derrick and many wonderful grandparents and family members, on the other side of the veil.

All Funeral services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe funeral home 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday November 21, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Monday November 22, at 1:00 PM with a viewing 12:00 – 12:45 PM prior to the service. Burial following the service will be at the South Jordan Memorial Cemetery, South Jordan, Utah. 10630 South 1055 West We thank all who participated in Larry’s care.

His Doctors, his nurse Mary at Dignity Hospice and many family members and friends who willingly and freely shared your love and prayers for Larry. They were deeply felt and appreciated.
