Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center - Murray on Jan. 11, 2024.

Michael Don Green passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2024. He was greeted with open arms by a loving Heavenly Father and by many loved ones who passed before him, including his father Terry Green and his beloved son Tate, along with his dogs Meeka and Lulu.
Mike came into the world on the evening of July 12, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He joined the Green Family as the second boy to Terry and Sharon. His mother described him as a happy, loving boy. He always got along with others and had many friends at school, church, and his neighborhood. He loved his parents, big brother Scott, and later his little brother Nate.
In Mike's early years, he developed many passions. As a boy he loved airplanes, cars, the space program and books. He loved to go to car and air shows. He had a love of music and shared his talent as part of the Highland High School Concert Choir, Madrigals, and at church. He also enjoyed going to concerts. Mike was an avid reader and a hard working student, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Utah and later receiving an MBA. His proudest academic achievement was recieiving a certification in IT systems and management from Berkeley. Professionally, he worked in Human Resources and later moved into a successful career as a Customer Success Manager at several tech companies.
Mike loved His Savior and the Gospel to which he dedicated much of his life. His testimony and love of God directed him towards a life of service to others. He served as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Hartford, Connecticut mission in the Spanish language. Throughout his adult life he spent time serving in multiple church callings including Elders Quorums and most recently as a counselor in his ward's bishopric and as a ward missionary. Mike loved those he served and dedicated his time and many talents to his fellow ward members, his family, friends, and neighbors.
Mike's greatest joy in life was his family. He was married to the love of his life, Shonell Rowley, on August 21, 1998 in the St. George Utah Temple. He loved his wife Shonell, who he had celebrated his 25th year aniversary with, and their two sons Dylan and Tate. Mike was known as "Mikey G." to his "Tatey Bear." After Tate's passing he found purpose in speaking about and encouraging changes in social media and the dangers of what is known as the choking game. Dylan was known as his "Bubba," and Mike was so proud of Dylan and his accomplishments. Mike was a doting father who found happiness in watching his boys grow and excel in school and their interests. He loved spending time with his family, extended family, and friends. He loved to go on trips and create memories.
Mike is survived by his wife, Shonell, son Dylan, beloved pet, Bella, mother Sharon Green, brothers Scott (Vianette) and Nate (Cami), in-laws Craig and Marsha Rowley, Monica Veater (Jamie), Colby Rowley (Toni), Lucas Rowley (Candace), Chelsey Young (Travis), Chase Rowley (Keisha), Nick Rowley (Ashley), Brennan Rowley (Lindsay), many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held at a future date.
