Randy Roy Werner was born February 28, 1953 to Luella Gene Garbett and Richard David Werner in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona. Randy married his high school sweetheart, Janene Eslin, on April 8, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Randy left behind Janene, his four children and 12 grandchildren.
Randy was a disability consultant at the time of his death; Upward Motions was his company. Randy had been in a wheelchair himself for about 19 years. He was a great advocate and taught advocacy to others. Randy was a facilitator for three disability support groups. He is greatly missed throughout the disability community in Phoenix and surrounding cities. There is a tree planted in his honor at one of the parks where the support group VOICE often has picnics. Janene has now taken over that support group and we have raised enough money to put a bench near Randy's tree so that members of VOICE can go and remember those we have loved and lost.
Randy used his beautiful voice as often as the opportunity showed up; he sang the National Anthem numerous times at the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball games and the Phoenix Suns basketballs games.
Randy is missed my many, but especially by Janene and his children and grandchildren.

Oh - I am so sad to see this. Just thinking of Randy makes me smile. He had such a great personality! He always knew just what to say to brighten a day. Sorry for your loss Janene.

Randy was one of those rare friends who could brighten a day just by being there! He loved life and he touched so many lives just because of who he was and the way he lived. I cannot remember Randy without remembering his laughter and goodness.
