Barbara Yoshioka "Our Barbara" Barbara Yoshiko Yoshioka, devoted daughter, loved family member and treasured friend died Tuesday, March 29th 2011 after an unexpected stroke.Barbara was a native of Utah, a graduate of South High and LDS Business College. She served an LDS mission to Anaheim, California, where she worked with both the deaf and hearing, and later worked for the LDS church. In recent years, she was the full-time caregiver for her parents Frank and Haruko, uncle Harold and Annie's friends who preceded her in death. Barbara was an avid reader, enjoyed travel, cooking and was a keen gardener. She was also a gifted artist and writer, who specialized in science fiction. She enjoyed all things British, from BBC comedies to Jane Eyre to Dr. Who. Her greatest talent was friendship. She had an amazing ability to be a truly thoughtful, loyal friend, and was one of those rare souls who unfailingly think of others first. Barbara will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 1:00 p.m. at Deseret Mortuary 36 East 700 South, SLC, UT.
