Gary Wayne Sonntag 1980 ~ 2010 Gary - Our loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, born August 22, 1980 passed away in the early morning hours of December 10, 2010. His parents were given his adoption papers on Christmas Day 1984 and have never been given a better gift. Those who had the opportunity to really know Gary became a friend that he always cherished. It didn't matter how long it had been since he had talked with you last; he held you close to his heart. Gary graduated from West High in 1998, and has since worked at several businesses. He was currently working to build up a small construction business. He loved being around, laughing with, and helping people more than anything, with the possible exception of skiing. Gary was a kind, considerate, loving person who was guided by his integrity. He had a special gift of friendliness. His strength was his personality. Gary's loss will forever leave a void in the lives of everyone he touched. Gary is survived by his parents Frank and Debra, siblings Robert, Michelle, and Riley, his grandparents Lura R. Bailey, Thomas H. and Sherrie K. Riley, and Gloria B. Sonntag. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and friends - so very dear to Gary and his family that they were often referred to as extended family in conversations and prayers. He was preceded in death by his grand-fathers, Douglas F. Sonntag and Paul J. Bailey. A closed-casket viewing will be held Thursday Dec. 16, 2010 at Larkin Mortuary at 260 East South Temple from 6:00-8:00p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing at 10:00, at the Founders Park 6th Ward Chapel at 11677 So. Grandville Ave. (53rd West), with interment to follow at Salt Lake City Cemetery. Always remember how loved you are. Please, just reach out!
