Although I lost contact with Mike after High School, I have thought of him a number of times over the years - for this reason: He was an example of courage and determination to me; one time in the locker room after gym class, Mike was set upon by a much larger fellow-student who had a bone to pick with Mike; Mike could have backed down, but he didn't; he stood up for himself and received some significant blows as a result; I can still see his bleeding face.  Mike's courageous stand impressed me because I'm not sure that I would have /could have done that.  May he rest in peace.
