J. Travis Gurr, most loved husband, son, brother, grandson and friend, died instantly on May 15, 1996 when his Cessna airplane caught fire and crashed into Utah Lake.
Born January 24, 1967 in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1989 and was president and partner of Blain/Olsen/ White/Gurr Advertising Agency. An incredible athlete and successful businessman-Travis excelled at anything he tried. All aspects of his life were handled with extreme honesty and integrity. Never was there a more respected, admired, and loved man; nor was there a more loving man. He had a unique way of making all his family and friends feel his love. He was our golden boy with his quiet sense of humor and heart-warming smile.
He married his best friend, Mindy Bringhurst, on May 12, 1990 and shared with her "the happiest six years of my life".
FULL OF LIFE, FULL OF LOVE, GONE TOO SOON. WE MISS YOU!!
Survived by his wife, Mindy; parents, Ilauna and John; sister, Stacey; grandparents, Afton Gurr, and Deanne and Val Utley; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends; and Maddie and Sam.
Great memories of Travis. Talented tennis player. Loved skiing at Snowbird. His dad would drive us around in his BMW in 6th grade, which I thought was awesome. Witty humor. Warm smile. Great family. Mindy is the best. From Steve Owens
Travis had the coolness factor even in Jr. High-the dreamy eyes, perfect hair, tan, his unforgettable smile, and deceptive sense of humor (no wonder Mindy dug him). I still remember his shiny silver trumpet in the Bryant Jr High Band-it was perfect! (Jim Geurts will back me up on this)
