Alton “Roy” Angus passed away from this earth on August 9th, 2017. He was born to Alton K. Angus and Mildred K. Wilding Angus in Salt Lake City on August 8th, 1954. He was raised in South Salt Lake and Boise Id. He attended Granite High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart Peggy “Diane” Tueller on August 8th, 1973 and they just celebrated their 44th year anniversary.
He had many interests like making jewelry, stained glass, photography, wrought iron and enjoyed going on Mountain Man Rendezvous, he always liked learning something new. Once he mastered something he moved on to his next interest. Cooking and barbecuing were his passion and he enjoyed feeding people. He loved family and looked forward to the annual family reunions. He would say that family is whomever is sitting at the dinner table. He was always the light of the party and had made so many fun memories with us all. We hope he enlightened others as much as he did our lives.
He had as many varied interests in work positions as he did in his hobbies from working at Brighton Ski Resort to welding at Chicago Bridge and Iron, valve technician for Emerson and mold repairs at Rubber Engineering. Many commented that he was one of the BEST welders they worked with. He bravely fought many medical issues for 17 years and we were lucky to have him for those.
He was loved dearly by his wife Diane and his daughters: Heather (Ben), Andrea and Jill. His siblings that have passed are Larry (Maxine), Drew (Nancy), Jim, and survived by his sisters Linda Smith of California and Barbara (“Corky”). His grandchildren are Danielle, Logan, Eric, and Kaiden, they were his world and his reason he fought so hard to stay. He never stopped fighting to be with his family.
