Peggy Ann Draper Barr passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024. She was born November 5, 1953 to Neil Demar Draper and Louise S Draper. She graduated from Granite High School in 1972 and studied dental assisting at The Bryman School in Salt Lake City. She married Mike Klenk on May 14th 1976 and they had two wonderful boys together. Peggy later married Mike Barr on September 21st, 2002 and inherited 5 loving stepchildren.
Peggy worked for Dr. Brent D. Lundberg, DMD and his father-in-law Dr. Clyde Coon, DMD as a Dental Assistant for nearly 40 years, taking short break in-between to raise her two boys. During these years, she created life-long friendships and touched many lives.
Peggy lived in her entire life in the Salt Lake area but cherished her time in West Jordan the most, where she raised her children and made many relationships that have endured through the years. In 2023, she spent a short period with family in St. Louis, MO where she would spend her days basking in the sun and laughing at the squirrels as they played in the trees or watching the deer graze across the yard.
Peggy’s life was devoted to her children and grandkids, often leaving the dental office with a patient in the chair to rush off for a school program or one of many sporting events. She was always the loudest cheerleader in the crowd and the first to volunteer when a team or school needed support. Nothing can ever compare to the joy in her eyes as she watched her kids or grandkids play or perform in the activities they love.
Peggy loved gardening, canning, crafting, shopping, and cake of literally any flavor but especially chocolate. Even more so, she loved the time she spent with her family and friends. Peggy loved serving others and always chose to see the best in everyone. She was humble and never wanted the spotlight on her but did everything in her power to spotlight the achievements of those she loved.
Peggy served her community and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A testament to her character was the strength and grace she exhibited through all of life’s trials. As she faced each hurdle, she demonstrated incredible courage, always deferring to the needs of others and asking what she could do to help.
The family would like to express immense gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Luke's hospital in Chesterfield, MO and the Life Care Center in Salt Lake City, UT. Their loving care and compassion was a blessing to Peggy and our family throughout her journey home.
Peggy is survived by her husband Mike Barr; her sons Hesston Klenk (Tiffany) and Chase Klenk (Heather); her five grandchildren, Kalleb, Aspen, Oakley, Aden, and Owen; her stepchildren Shellie Kitchens (Dallas), Martin Barr (Trudy), Duaine Barr(Kristina), Kimberly Hunt (Greg), Bradley Barr ( Alison), and their 15 children; her parents, Neil and Louise Draper; her siblings Kent Draper, Susan Marshall, Scott Draper, and their spouses and children. Preceded in death by brother, Chris Draper and many aunts and uncles.

A viewing will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, February 15th and again from 9:00am to 9:45am on Friday, February 16th followed by funeral services at 10:00am.
