Our loving wife, mother, grand-mother, sister, aunt and friend, Susan Helen Gunnerson Briggs, peacefully passed away at her home in Heber, Utah, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

She was born October 15, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Helen Clark Gunnerson and Harold O. Gunnerson. Sue married her best friend, high school sweetheart and love of her life, Robert Lynn Briggs, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple March 26, 1974. She graduated from Granite High School, and went on to attend two years at LDS Business College. She took pride in being an amazing mother and expert homemaker, which she did until her children were grown. After moving to Heber, Utah she found joy in working as a real estate agent which she did for 9 years. She has always loved to help others and found loving friendships with many people as she worked as an administrative assistant at the Heber Senior Center.

Sue has never had any hesitation sharing her beliefs about God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was determined to learn from every new opportunity, as well as let her life be an example of what her beliefs were. She was an active member of the LDS church and served faithfully in many capacities and callings.

Sue was full of life and love. She was a very influential person, teaching and inspiring those that knew and loved her. She loved to travel with her sweetheart whether it be Hawaii, Lake Powell, the Cabin, or Alaska, as long as she was spending time with the love of her life, she was happy. Her number one priority was always her family. She could always be seen supporting one of her children or grandchildren. She loved being a grandma and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will forever be remembered as "Susie Sunshine" because of her infectious positive attitude, her sense of humor, adventurous spirit and zest for life Even though our hearts are broken, we are comforted and strengthened by our Heavenly Father with the knowledge that she is no longer suffering and through temple covenants we will be together again.

She leaves behind many who dearly love her and on whose lives she had a profound influence. She is survived by her husband of 39 years Robert Lynn Briggs, their loving children; Ryan Briggs (Marci), Lisa Davis (Jefferson), Erika Guymon (Michael), Kelli Eisenhart (John), Traci Widdison (Skylar), Matthew Briggs (Alexsandra), their 16 grandchildren; her sister Patty Sandstrom (Roy), brother Allan Gunnerson (Vicki), brother Lee Gunnerson (Joan), sisters-in-law Dorothy Gunnerson and Karen Harrison, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Helen, her father Harold, brothers; Keith Gunnerson, and Gary Gunnerson, sisters; Dixie Magers (Guy), and Norma Clark (Russ).
