Rich passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2016, as a result of an aneurism. He was born in Salt Lake City on May 19, 1954 to John and Gloria Oldham. Rich and his companion of 40 years, Janet Howard, lived a full and fruitful life together, growing beautiful gardens each year and caring for their many companion pets. Jed, Rich's much loved Labrador, will mourn Rich's passing into God's hands with all of us.
Rich, attended Murray High School and worked for Cook Lumber and BMC West. Rich was an avid fisherman who spent many hours fishing Strawberry with his father John and his grandfather, Jack. He and Janet loved the outdoors riding their ATV on many outings every year. Rich was an accomplished wildlife photographer leaving a rich pictorial legacy of Utah wildlife.
By the Grace of God, Rich enriched our lives. He made us laugh and created an understanding of the joy and fulfillment in family obligations. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.
Rich follows his mother Gloria, father John and his brother Brent into everlasting life. Rich is survived by his lifelong companion, Janet Howard, his brother Steve (Sue) and their children, his brother Brian (Julie) and their children.
We are provided few opportunities in life to fully appreciate the contributions of others to the goodness in the world, and we reflect and rejoice in Rich's many contributions.
