Ruth Sandoval Sanchez; beloved daughter, mother, sister and grandmother. Ruth was born February 24, 1954 to Maria D. and Thomas F. Sandoval in Grand Junction, Colorado.After a long and courageous battle, she died peacefully in her sleep due to complications of scleroderma on December 3rd of 2004 surrounded by her loving family.
She graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She married Toby Jacquez. Later divorced. Married Frankie Sanchez. Widowed. And married Michael Orosco. Ruth loved reading, gardening, sewing, but above all she enjoyed spending time with her three children and two grandsons.
She is survived by her mother Maria Sandoval and father Thomas (Mary) Sandoval; three children, Melissa (Sean) Leatherbury, Joseph Jacquez, and Iisha Sanchez; two grandsons who were the pride and light of her life, Seth and Nicholas Leatherbury; the oldest of 13 siblings, Lori, Marylee, Tim, Kathy (Manny), Susie (Barry), Stephen (Sheila), Anna (Randy), Jerri (Steve), Jeannette (Larry), Daniel, and Sarena.
Preceded in death by her brother Daniel David. To follow with her last wish and to continue her ongoing battle with scleroderma, she requested that her body be donated to further the research and find a cure for scleroderma.
Her children would like to express our love and profound thanks to our grandmother Maria for taking such amazing care of our mother.
