Robert Sherwood

Robert William Sherwood, Jr., much loved son, husband, father, brother, and friend, returned to his Heavenly Father Sept. 1, 2001 after a series of illnesses for 25 years.

Born March 18, 1948 in Portland, OR to Robert William Sher-wood and Cherril Black. While living in many dif-ferent places, he learned to appreciate and respect people from all backgrounds and walks of life. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved backpacking, hiking, and fishing.

He was an active member of the LDS church. On Jan 26, 1972 he married Terrie Jean Nelson in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. After a divorce in 1998, they were remarried Aug 24, 2001.

He earned a degree in psychology and a Master's in Political Science from BYU. He also earned a Master's from the University of Utah in Human Resources Management in Economics.

His focus in his professional life was Health Planning in its various forms in several states. His most recent positions were Director, Bureau of Primary Care and Rural Systems and Senior health Policy Advisor in health Care Financing.

Robert is survived by his wife, Terrie; daughters, Lalanya, Amorette, Tamra; mother, Cherril Macfarlane; sisters, Leslie Carr, Teresa Wilson; and brothers, Jim, Peter.

Services will be Wed. Sept 5, 2001, 12 noon, Cottonwood Heights 2nd Ward chapel ( 6890 S. 2225 E). The family will receive friends at a viewing 6-8 p.m. Tues. Sept 4, Larkin Sunset Lawn (2350 E. 1300 S), and Wed. one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn.
