With Wings Spread to Fly

Salt Lake City, UT— Dad passed away peacefully January 24, after a life well-lived. Born to Keith C. and Ada Bluth Wallace, Mike lived most all his life in Salt Lake, graduating from Highland High School. He married Claudia Pelton (dec.) and was the father of Kristen and Ian Wallace, and stepfather to Joshua Pelton.

Mike led an eventful life, serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, stationed in Thailand. He spent most of his service as an aircraft mechanic and a crew member on C-130 Hercules in-flight refueling missions. After the war, he returned to Salt Lake and established a career with Mountain Fuel Gas Company.

Mike's passions, which he pursued throughout the Mountain West included: skiing in the Wasatch, riding his motorcycle, hiking, cycling, and camping in his beloved Southern Utah national parks. He was an avid pilot and made a point to attend as many airshows as time allowed. He also maintained a passion for reading and pop-up books, with a substantial collection of the wonderful creations.
