IN MEMORY

Jean Terry (Keyes)

Jean Terry (Keyes)

Jean Terry Tingey Keyes

Our wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and sister left this world on January 9, 2024. She is now at peace, reunited with her parents and other loved ones. We are heartbroken but we are also comforted in knowing that her body and mind are restored, and she can talk, laugh and feel joy again.

Jean was born on August 5, 1950, to Robert and Betty Jane Terry. A daughter of an Air Force officer, she and her six siblings grew up all over the United States and even spent a few years in Germany when she was young. Jean graduated from Highland High School and attended beauty college.

She married Kenneth Tingey (later divorced) and had four children who always knew that they were loved by her. She worked hard to provide a loving home with great memories and a strong sense of family. Holidays were always a fun time at her house. She was always there for her kids with her sense of calm advice and loving support, even when she knew we were probably making the wrong decisions. It's finally her turn to rest and be free to find the peace and joy that she deserves.

Jean later married Curtis Keyes and together they enjoyed traveling all around the world for many years to many different places including Kenya, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, Israel, Greece, Mexico and Hawaii. She loved taking pictures everywhere she went and was always bringing back souvenirs for her grandkids, who will treasure those wonderful mementos.

Jean was a creative person who made halloween costumes, prom dresses and so many school projects for her kids as well as desserts for family get-togethers. Later on, she also loved making fine meals for friends but definitely loved going out to eat with Curt as well. They were well known at their most favorite restaurants and were always greeted warmly every time they went there. Jean was also a quiet and private person. Most people wouldn't know everything she has endured in life, especially how hard the last several years have been for her. Through all of the hard times, though, she was always a pillar of support for those in need and found herself taking care of others long before herself. Her unconditional love and perseverance through tough situations has been extraordinary to witness.

She is survived by so many people who are going to miss her and feel incredibly blessed to have had her as an example in their lives. She will be remembered by her children: Kevin Tingey, Kristy (Chad) Parry, Shawn (Lily) Tingey, and Brent Tingey. She adored each of her wonderful grandchildren: Alex and Chase Parry, Christopher and Camila Tingey. She also leaves behind her loving husband, Curtis, who will miss her immensely. She is survived as well by three brothers: Ken, Lee and Bill Terry and one sister: Linda Sorenson.

We would like to thank those who took great care of Jean during these last few years of her declining health.

Until we meet again, we love you!
