Chad M. Simmons 1962 ~ 2011 Chad M. Simmons, 49, passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2011. Chad was born in Moscow, ID, January 20, 1962, to Harold A. Simmons and Jane Perry Simmons, but grew up in Salt Lake City, UT. He graduated from Highland High School in 1980. In 1981, he married Deborah Bailey, later divorced. In 1988, he married his best friend and love of his life, Penny Lynn Westlund. Chad graduated from Salt Lake Community College with his Associate of Science Degree in 1991. For the past 10 years, he worked for Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., where he was a small business unit manager. Chad was a kind, big-hearted man who found joy in many things. He loved to ride his ATVs with his wife and daughter. He loved to play golf with his friends. He was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family. He was proud of his son and daughter. He loved to laugh. He is survived by his wife Penny, their daughter Jessica, his son Nathan from his first marriage, his mother, his sister Janene (Scott) Bowen, and nephews and nieces. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Jenkins-Soffe funeral chapel, 4760 South State Street, Murray. Friends may call a half hour before the service. Thoughts and condolences may be shared online at www.jenkins-soffe.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jess Simmons Higher Education Fund, which has been set up in Chad's honor to support his desire that his daughter attend and graduate from college. Donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank.
