Obituary for Shawn Lin Woodcox Shawn was born at Fort Carson, Colorado on 12 October 1962 and died in Salt Lake City, Utah on 9 August 2015. She graduated from Highland High School in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. Shawn spent most of her professional career in law enforcement. She enjoyed working as a 911 dispatcher in Laguna Beach, California, as a Reserve Officer, as a Laguna Beach Police Employees' Association Board Member, and as an Operations Supervisor for Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC) in Utah. She loved golfing, organizing a trip, making people laugh, photography, reading, watching movies, being with friends, and interacting with animals -- birds, cats, dogs, deer were favorites. Shawn was preceded in death by her father, Jerry David Woodcox, and by her grandparents, Rae and Barr Moss; Fae and Paul Woodcox. She is survived by her mother, Sharon Moss Russell; her brother, Cole; and her beloved cat, Mia. Interment of her ashes is at the Salt Lake City Cemetery on Thursday, 20 August at 10.00 am. Her family wants to thank relatives, friends, and co-workers for their love and support as well as thank the Huntsman Cancer Institute, St. Joseph's Villa and her hospice team for the skilled care they provided Shawn. We love and will miss her very much. I always liked Shawna!  I admired her beautiful singing voice and was impressed that she could

hold those notes so long and so clearly.  Shawna always had a joke and a smile and a hello.

She found things ironic and humorous and shared what she found.  She was strong, confident,

and talented!
