Robyn Wilkinson Johnson

1953 ~ 2009

Robyn Wilkinson Johnson passed away peacefully with a smile on her face on February 4, 2009 after a 13 year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on December 22, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Homer F. Wilkinson and Lorraine A. Wilkinson. She attended schools in Salt Lake City graduating from Skyline High School in 1972. She attended the University of Utah and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Business degree. She married David Jay Johnson on September 5, 1986 and the joy of her life, Davis Jordan Johnson was born on March 15, 1991. Robyn began her career at the Hilton Hotel where she worked for many years. She later worked at First Interstate Bank and most recently was working at the Utah Department of Health as the CFT Manager, where she made many close friends that she loved and appreciated.

Robyn had a passion for knowledge and a desire for perfection in all she did and instilled those qualities in her son, Davis. She was lovingly known by her siblings as the “Matriarch” and all who knew her were in awe of her ability to make sense and order of everything even in spite of her own personal struggle. Dave and Robyn spent many of their early married years playing softball where her favorite positions were catcher and first base. Robyn loved being a mother and her happiest times were spent on the sidelines of every baseball, football or basketball game that Davis played, and she was the best team mom ever for all of her boys! She made sure “Team Johnson” was ready for every game. She loved the summer and being outside in the sunshine. She was a beautiful water skier and enjoyed taking family boating trips to Lake Powell, Lake Mead and Lake Tahoe. She loved vacationing and one of her favorite destination spots was Hawaii. She recently spent her birthday and Christmas on the island of Maui where they affectionately called her “Lopine”. Robyn was the strongest fighter you will ever meet and she never gave up, even to the last moment. She truly lived strong!
