Helen Marie Cunningham, 68, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday, August 6 2022, after a battle with cancer. She was born on 10 October 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the youngest child to Joseph Cunningham and Helen Marie Reilly. She had two older brothers, Daniel and Timothy.
Helen graduated magna cum laude from University of Utah with a B.A. in Anthropology. She continued academic success at University of Utah, and earned her J.D from S. J. Quinney School of Law, focusing on a career in finance and insurance law. Helen also enjoyed playing softball, and competed in a softball league "The Regulators" with her friends for several years at the local Larry H. Miller Softball field.
Helen was very compassionate and had a big love for all animals, especially dogs. She would show and compete her English Springer Spaniels, Jenny and Howard, at various dog shows with her eldest brother and sister-in-law. She also had a passion for travel and learning about her ancestry. Helen visited Ireland multiple times with her Catholic parish, and also obtained a dual-citizenship for Ireland.
She is survived by her brother Daniel Cunningham, her two nieces Kate Cunningham and Carly Cunningham, and her grand niece Eleanor and grand nephew Oscar, as well as her life-long friend Debbie Moon (including Debbie's husband Jeff, and their two daughters Lindsey and Kelsey) who became Helen's extended family.
