Lawrence caught the flu around December 2013. It was a particularly bad year for it and colder winter than usual in San Antonio. It progressed into pneumonia and from what I understand, neither he nor the doctors understood how seriously it was progressing and by the time he was finally checked into the hospital it wasn't long until he succumbed to it.
Though I never crossed paths with him since '93 or so, Lawrence had also been living in San Antonio for years, had a family and a Pool Cleaning business I believe. His funeral at Lewis Funeral Home on WW White was well attended by family, friends and many who knew him from Churchill and even some of the old coaching staff. He was buried just east of San Antonio in a cemetary off E Houston St. I believe. I think Meadowlawn.
I was just sharing memories about Lawrence the other day and will continue to. He was the most amazing all-around athlete I've ever known, but also funny and genuine. It was a privelege to have known him and to have met his family.

Does anyone know what happened to Lawrence?
