On June 6, 1995, Sims took his own life. Though he and Pariah, the band formed at Clark, had signed with Geffen Records in 1990 and were rising to the top of the rock world with the likes of Nirvana and dating Renee Zellwegger (though they broke up six months before he died), the depression and pain he was enduring was more than he could handle.
