Jason, it was heart failure..... It is my understanding that he and his father where at their ranch burying his dog. Fail over shortly after that from heart failure.
Jason passed away in May of 2003. He was married and had a son (Jacob "Wade") that was 10 months old at the time. Jason had a rare heart disease that runs in our family. He died of sudden cardiac death. He was at one of the places he loved most, the family ranch. He spent a lot of his free time there and at Rockport bay fishing.

Audwin-that is the story as I understand it. I know he had a wife and a very young daughter at the time....
