Marlon Vaquera, age 26, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, May 12, 2003, surrounded by his loving family. The Lord called Marlon home to Heaven after a brave battle with Leukemia. In his brief time on earth, he touched all who met him and he inspired many with his courage and determination. Marlon left a light in this world with his music, his love for family and his ability to make others laugh and smile. He most enjoyed composing music and singing in his band, Stymee. He was the world's greatest fan of Weezer and the Beatles. Marlon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elia and Lorenzo Vaquera; maternal grandmother, Santos Lara. He is survived by his loving parents, Jose and Rose Vaquera; sister, Melody Cuellar and husband Raul Cuellar; brother, Gonzalo Vaquera and wife Donalyn Vaquera; niece, Trinity Vaquera who loved her Tio Marlon and who he loved without measure. Marlon's presence will never be forgotten, nor can the light of his spirit ever be extinguished. A Rosary for Marlon will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road. Procession will depart the funeral home at 11:15 A.M. Thursday, May 15, 2003 for a 12:00 Noon Funeral Mass at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church, 142 E. Lambert.
