For Ilene's family: May loving memories of Ilene out weigh the pain of her loss in the near future.

I was proud to have known her and enjoyed her talents during our high school years.

Rest in peace Ilene.

Cheryl and I danced to the music of The Six Part Invention.  Cheryl worked at both The Garter and The Garter North.  One day she called me all excited.  She told me I had to come hear this remarkable group.  When I heard them, I told Cheryl that TSPI was the best cover band I had ever heard, but more than that, I told her also that the musicians were the best I had ever heard, and I meant it.  The vocals were awesome, and I hope I do not hurt the feelings of the other musicians when I say what I remember best of all were the flute solos.  Since those days, only one other group has come even close to moving me in the same way - Morning, but the music of Morning is/was more country with its excellent covers of Pure Prairie League.  Whenever I hear a  vocalist, I can not help comparing the quality of the voice with Sunny's voice of an angel.  I hope Cheryl at the time shared my comments about the band and about Sunny with the members of the group.  Those were the days when I was too shy to go up to anyone whom I did not know.  My deepest sympathies to her family and especially to her brothers, who were so important to the group.  Cheryl and I can not now remember who was the musician and which instrument he played - maybe both? - , but we do remember how well everyone in the group performed.  Cheryl liked all of the people associated with Sunny, but especially Sunny.  If I should have written, Sunne instead of Sunny, I apologize.

For many years we rode the yellow school bus together.  Sweet, demur Ilene.  There was so much talent in that tiny girl, and no one would know until she performed.  I can see her now as she was then, singing with her brothers in the Lee Talent shows. She was gifted.  My condolences to Jimmy and Bob and her son and her friends and other family.  May her memory bring you all peace and joyful recollections.

Ilene was a lovely girl beyond compare with a beautiful  and sweet nature.  I remember her beautiful voice singing Granada.  She could sing like a lark.  Condolences and wishes for peace and comfort  being sent to brothers, Bob and Jimmy.

Ilene was my best pal in high school, and began using her first name, Sunny after that.  My favorite memories of her are from the late 60's, when she sang at The Garter on the River, where she introduced my to my future husband.
She lives on in our memories of her talent, creativity, and personality.   My condolences to her family.
