JoAnn and I had become closer as we aged.  The last gift she gave me was on my fortieth birthday...it said "Ha Ha Ha, you're 40 and I'm not."  The saddest thing is she never was.  Gone way too soon, loved and missed always.

Such a beautiful person inside & out. That always seems so unfair to me -- the good die young. Makes me wonder about the rest of us still here! surprise

My earliest memories of Joann began before age 9, when my mother and I visited her home.

She was pretty, sweet, and loved to laugh, all her life. She enriched our years at Lee...

Joann was as sweet as she was beautiful. I was new to Lee our junior year and she was wonderful to me. Introducing me to every one. She encouraged me to try out for cheerleader the end of our  junior year. She was so supportive when I did't make it. I remembering her telling how proud she was of me , and how I gave it a good try. I will never forget her. She was very special. Rozana La Macchia Corbo

When I think of Joann, I have a picture in my head of blonde hair, big beautiful smile, wearing a letter jacket, carrrying books (when did they invent backpacks anyway?), and that WALK.  She had a very distinctive, slow gait.   She was such a beautiful soul and made you feel special.  Her death at 39 had a profound effect on me.  Like you've said...gone way too soon.
