I ran into Jeanne and Billy at the Baptist Hospital sometime in 1972 or 1973. When I asked why they were down there they became quite, Billy like my father was dying of cancer. My dad died August of 1973 and Billy died right after that. He and Jeanne were just starting their post college and military commitment lives in Beeville when he was diagnosed. I was so sad to see my father pass but I felt worse still for Billy to be taken so young. It wasn't to long after that that Bobbie McCallum died.
Billy was a very caring person . Several times when we were driving around together he would put his arm out to help stop his passenger from going forward in a fast stop. Remember this was before seat belts . He was a better basketball player than Eddie but not by much. Billy helped me in football before I injured my back down at the pool when we were clowning around once too often.
it is sad both brothers have passed on, I miss their father also.
