In Memory

James Calisto Franceschini VIEW PROFILE

We are saddened to learn that Jim Francesconi passed away on July 16, 2021.  He was at home with his wife by his side. He fought a long, hard battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife, Debra ‘Deb’ Francesconi of Fresno; son Chris Francesconi and wife Jenn of Huntington Beach, California; Justin Francesconi and wife Meghan of San Anselmo, California; Katie Peters, and husband Dan, of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Devon Graber, Brenna Francesconi, Emily Francesconi, Jack Francesconi, Reese Francesconi, Finn Peters, Elle Francesconi and Hayes Peters.  Jim also adored his two sisters Terry Lennox and husband, Steve, and Annie Josserand and husband Tom, as well as his nieces and nephews, Ryan Lennox, Erin Ralston, the late Eric Josserand, Annelise Josserand and Kristen Barcroft, as well as their beautiful families.

Jim was born September 5, 1951 to James Francesconi and Lois Francesconi Lowenstein in Bell, California.  His career began as a young man when he and his buddy purchased a grocery store in Southern California.  For most of his career after that, he was involved in the grocery business in one way or another.  Just before his retirement he enjoyed doing marketing for a local golf course, being able to spend the days at one of his favorite places!   Jim’s career moved him and his family throughout California, Arizona and Illinois, marketing for different grocery businesses

Jim was a life-long Los Angeles Dodgers fan and enjoyed discussing their ups, downs, trades and injuries.  We are pleased he was able to enjoy celebrating the Dodgers’ 2020 World Series Win.  He truly “bled blue”.  You could often find Jim in the kitchen preparing beautiful meals for his family and friends.  He was usually the “life of the party” and enjoyed his family and friends.  Jim enjoyed attending Tom Petty concerts, the last concert being at the Hollywood Bowl just before Tom Petty passed.  His cherished activities included hunting for birds with his beloved dog/companion “Otis”, camping, fishing, hiking, and especially golfing.
