A classmate reported the passng of Michael Messrah. She provided this lovely memory.
Michael worked in construction and cleared sites with heavy equipment for housing developments. I know very little about his life and death except that we would wave as he lived a block from me, and looked after his mother for many years. Sometimes, he would stop to talk when he walked his dog. Right after our last reunion, he and John Sunda stopped by to chat about our days in grade school, at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. When he learned that I had breast cancer, he sent an encouraging card, which was so thoughtful. When I passed by his house, I spoke to his son, who was clearing out his house. He said his dad had passed away on Father's Day, surrounded by family members.
Michale is survived by his son, mother and sister.
