Patricia Brainerd Ten Elshof

I married right out of High School. Married for 13 years divorced and moved my three children and I up to Washington to start a new life. We love it up here. Daughter works for a John L. Scott Reality company and son Matt works for mold abatement and asbestos removal. Three grandchildren from my daughter: Stephen (18), Harley (13)and Katie (12) I spend my days crafting. I crochet, paint, sew, scrapbooking, jewelry making and anything I can get my hands on. Now disabled with very limited walking. Still the same cheerful person I used to be. In June 2000 my son was killed in a car mishap. My mom died in April 1999. I had a stroke in 2014. In June of 2018 I had a reaction from taking cipro. I woke up on the 4th day of the pill and my legs would not let me walk forward. I could not move so I transferred into my recliner and my right leg did not follow me, I saw a snap, it broke my patella straight across the knee. I was in a therapy house for three months. I am home. This month I am now a great grandmother. His name is Avery Mason Bell. 2023 December My brothers and sisters are all living. I still live in Wash. My daughter is remarried and has 2 very sweet little boys. Her son is not married and the oldest daughter lives in Canada with her boyfriend. Myself, I still cannot walk but do a lot of work in my garden. I love the pumpkins, zucchini, peas, and squash.

I enjoyed myself anywhere I went. I made friends very easily. I was not really in a group as a lot of my friends were but I would enjoy the company of many. I sat in the library at lunchtime and did homework and enjoyed conversations with friends. My life was full as I was a major state and flag carrier in the Rhythmettes drum and bugle corps. I do wish I could have done more with the kids at Pacific High.
