Lee Ann Kauffman (Pommier)

Lee Ann (Kauffman) Pommier
September 3, 1952 - August 13, 2021
Lee Ann Pommier passed away suddenly on August 13, 2021. She was born September 3, 1952, to Emil and Joyce Kauffman. Biological sister to Kay Lawrence and Margo Reclus, she was also a "sister" to cousins and friends. She was an amazingly patient mother to Jennifer and Christie and the surrogate mother to many more. There was not a person she met who did not become a friend.
Things she will be remembered for: Lee Ann loved cooking for an army even if there were only four people at the table. She had a terrible sense of direction and was nicknamed "Wrong-Way Pommier" by some of her USPS coworkers. She loved to write cards and never missed a birthday, anniversary, life event or holiday. Photos were her favorite and she was always taking pictures. Because of this, there were numerous times we kids cursed the invention of the camera phone. Lee Ann always knew the right thing to say even if it was not what you wanted to hear which made her a great mom and friend. She was a foster mother to numerous kids over the years and her love, caring and passion resulted in positive impacts on every one of the children who passed through her door. She never ran out of things to talk about and could talk on the phone for hours. Lee Ann loved to garden-especially her rose bushes. More than anything, she loved her daughters…Although Robert Redford was a close second.
Lee Ann was the strongest, bravest, and most patient person with the biggest heart. Despite all the challenges she faced, she was positive, smiling and always more concerned about everyone else above herself. An unfillable void will be left with her passing.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer and Christie, son-in-law Justin, granddaughter Aubrey, sisters Margo and Kay and numerous family members and friends.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a local domestic violence charity or foster care program.
