Reid Hunt

Reid Judson Hunt 1974 ~ 2007 Reid passed away Jan. 28, 2007 in Colorado Springs, CO in an ice climbing accident. He was born Nov. 16, 1974 in Salt Lake City to Bob and Marian Hunt. Reid was raised in Sandy and was a graduate of Alta High. He served an LDS Sign Language Mission in New York City and England. Reid later graduated from Utah State University and earned a Masters Degree at Gallaudet University. He married Rona Lev on Sept. 1, 2005. He was the Director of Student Life and Transition at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. Reid was a strong advocate in the Deaf community, especially for the education of deaf children. Reid was an avid outdoors man. As a youth he enjoyed camping and participating in scouting. He was an Eagle Scout. After living in Washington DC, he was eager to return to the mountains. He loved snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, climbing and mountaineering. He recently went on a climbing trip to Mt. Rainer. He had many artistic talents, most recently seen in the remodel of his home. He had a great sense of humor. Survived by the love of his life, his wife, Rona; parents, Bob and Marian Hunt of Sandy. Sister, Rian (James) Jensen; brothers; Adam (Lori) and Wade (Katelyn), grandmother, Mrs. Don Hunt; parents-in-law, Avi and Karen Lev; sister-in-law, Rachel. He loved his niece and nephews; Morgan, Carter, and Gavin. Reid will never be forgotten for keeping the spirit of Adventure in our lives. He loved and was loved by many people throughout his life.
