In Memory

Alissa Stookey

Alissa lost her battle to a long term illness on August 15, 2012. While her time here was short, she accomplished much. After graduating from Alta, she attended Southern Utah University for two years and then transferred to the University of Utah. She graduated with a BS in Behavioral Health and Science. While in school at the U, she became involved with the Bennion Center. She won an internship for the summer to San Francisco to work with the Names Project: AIDS Memorial Quilt. Alissa was very passionate about AIDS education and especially in the prevention of HIV. Alissa was a deeply passionate person, who lived life to the fullest every day. She had a soft side she very seldom showed and was considered rough around the edges by a lot of people. She was my best friend for 20 plus years, and I miss her everyday. You are free of your afflictions, Alissa. Fly with the angels! You will never be forgotten! http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/deseretnews/obituary.aspx?n=alissa-catherine-stookey&pid=159334653&fhid=13417#fbLoggedOut Anne Funkhouser Brewer
