Knew Phil through those friends from St John's that I made at MD.  He was a great guy.  Found out about his sudden passing from Drew Hatcher and it was a shock.  RIP Phil and our condolesnces to his wife and family.

When Phil arrived at SJB in about 1972, he was immediately the coolest kid in the class. His stingray had the longest chopper forks, he had a fort above the garage that his folks couldn't reach, and two even cooler older brothers, one in a band, the other a Corvette mechanic. Phil himself was an accomplished mechanic and everything he did was done well. Many may remember the barely-street-legal blue Plymouth Roadrunner with the 474 he drove to MD.

Around 1984 Phil was hired at Continental Airlines (now United) as an airframe mechanic and never left. He met Lisa through that job. An amazing career for an amazing guy. Phil will be greatly missed as a genuine friend of 53 years.

That is very sad news! I have such great memories of Phil in high school and after high school. Loved his Road Runner! Many great times!. Many I don't remember.... I do remember going on a 10 day back packing trip to the San Joaquin River valley that Pat put together, that Phil, Pat, Brian, Me, Tom and I think I am forgetting someone, went on... What a great trip! I am really sorry to hear about Phil's passing... my deepest condolences to Phils family.

Sad to hear this. Always a nice guy at Mater Dei. He and his trademark blue Roadrunner outdid my old car. My sincere condolences to his family.

I knew Phil from our days at SJB. His family lived 2 blocks from us. Really nice guy. We shared an interest in dirt bikes. Very sad news.

May the Lord bring comfort and peace to his loved ones.
