PETER E. HERRERA DECEMBER 4, 1970- DECEMBER 30, 2016 Our beloved father, son, brother, and uncle passed due to unforeseen complications from a sudden illness. He is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his son Derrick (Roberta Lujan), loving parents Fred and Erlinda, Sisters Roberta and Roslin (Anthony), Brothers Anthony (Jeannie), Andrew (Sherrie) and Patrick. Special nephew Josiah, as well as nephews and nieces, Jason, James, Jacelyn (Arysa), Vanessa (Elizabeth), Jerrid, Josh, Justin (Isabella), Aaron, Mikayla, Dominic, and Jayden. His uncles and aunts Roy Martinez, Dennis Herrera, Esther Martinez, Jenny Mares, Mida Herrera and Angela Herrera. The honorary pall bearers are Patrick Herrera, James Gonzales, Frank Martinez, Chris Dassaro, Carlos Lovato, Wayne Martinez, Bill McCallister, Richard Lujan and Julie Phillips. Pete was a pillar of the community, coaching and mentoring many of Santa Fe's Youth in both basketball and baseball. He was a friend to many and was always there to make people laugh with his contagious personality. To all the family, friends, children, parents and youth programs, the Herrera family thanks you for showing us your support and making us proud to know how appreciated he was. We are grateful and humble to you all. He will be dearly missed.
