I remember Manuel having a great sense of humor in highschool hanging out with Rudy Abeyta and Joseph Quintana. I think it was our Junior year at SFHS that we were all in line to take our yearbook photo and the picture lady had us write our name on a piece of paper to give to the photographer so that he can match up our name with our photo. Well.........the 3 of them, switched papers and they are listed under different names in the yearbook. It was really funny that they got away with it. I also remember giving Manuel free food when he went through the drive-through at Wendys when I worked there, then I got busted and couldn't give free food anymore. Wow ... I have memories of Manuel all the way back to grade school. I remember how much fun we all had at annual school competitions at Larragoite. He was a sweet boy and I'm sad that I didn't get to know the man. I have few regrets in life, but for reasons like this, I am sometimes sad that I left Santa Fe when I did.

Manuel ... you will always be in our hearts.

I remember how much Manuel loved racing cars and talking about it later on in class. It looks like he went on to study and make a career out of the automotive field. I think it shows his passion never stopped growing for something he enjoyed doing.

I am very sorry to hear about Manuel! I send his family my condolences. I remember Manuel was a nice guy, I don't ever remember him being hateful to anyone. The one thing I remember clearly was that for our English class with Mrs. Hagman, he would walk in,sit behind me, tap me on the shoulder to see if I had a pen or pencil to write with. I would give him one, then a short time later he would tap my shoulder again and ask for paper to write on. I always laughed at him because this would happen like every other day, but it didn't bother me, I was prepared because I already knew. He had many friends that cared for him, he will be greatly missed.
