I remember when we were little, my brother used to take Kay's sock monkey and throw it on the roof of my grandparent's house. Kay's Aunt Gladys used to sit with my grandmother. Later, she and I worked together at the Bone and Joint clinic in Franklin. I remember her asking me if I thought there was a God and we talked about that for a long time. I remember the day she died. I heard it on the radio that there had been a fatal accident on the Nashville Highway. I think of Kay when I look at the sunset and see pink and blue hues...her favorite eye shadow colors she always wore.
