In Memory

Robin Jenkins

Died on May 10, 2009 in Las Vegas. Born December 7, 1963 in San Antonio, Texas, Robin lived most of her life in Santa Rosa. She was a 1982 graduate of Montgomery High School. Robin lived to sing, and her spirit and voice were an inspiration to many people. If there was a dull moment in any gathering, Robin could be counted on to liven it up. Although physically small, her presence, her love and her laughter would fill any room. "Rockin' Robin" was a familiar part of the Sonoma County music scene for many years. She had moved to Las Vegas last year, and was establishing herself there. The grief caused by her tragic death, yet another instance in the domestic violence epidemic, is softened by knowing that she lived every minute to the hilt. Robin leaves her father Vic Jenkins and spouse Carolynn Ranch, of Vacaville; brother Jay Smith and spouse Lynn Martinez of Willow Creek, brother René Jenkins and partner Janet Janay Cipriani of Sonoma. She was predeceased by her mother Gloria Jenkins in August, 2008. Robin holds a special place in the hearts of her extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins. She loved and is loved by her nieces and nephews Lauren Smith, Jared Smith, Oliver Rogers, Alexander Martinez and Arijana Martinez. We deeply feel the loss of her physical presence but are grateful for the unique and special gifts that Robin brought into our lives and that will be alive in us always. There will be a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Unity Church of the Valley, 350 North Orchard Avenue, in Vacaville, CA. The family requests donations be made to: YWCA Domestic Violence Program, P.O. Box 3506, Santa Rosa, CA 95402 in lieu of flowers.
