I kind of hate to see Tom's page empty. I remember him as a bright guy, full of energy and with his own style. I had never player softball until I joined the team in my Senior year. I did appreciate quickly how he filled in at third base when Kip got injured and did so with confidence. We didn't seem to skip a beat. Tom seemed to hang in Dean Farrar's shadow as did a fairly large contingent of friends (Dean seemed to have that energy). My memories of Tom were good ones during that brief period. It is hard to understand why some of us have left this earth earlier than others, but it is always sad when we realize that they have.

I appreciate your leaving that comment Rick. I too spent a lot of time with Tom. He had a charisma about him that was undeniable. With my brother Mike's help I was remembering that incredible game you guys had with BA in 1970 and although Kit and Mark and others were the 'stars' of the team, I remember Tom being the heart and soul. And of course we can't forget the little shortstop! In that big game I just remember Gruppo and Hazlett dropping incredibly clutch hits up the rightfield line to win the game, a no-hitter thrown by Wally Bunge!

Miss you, my brother. I understand.
