Tica Stanton (1976)

Patrick and I were very close in junior high and I remember crying a lot when he moved to Puerto Rico. Luckily for me, we renewed our friendship when I moved to Miami in 1988 and we kept in touch after I moved away in 2001. Patrick was concerned with my frumpy image and insisted on giving me highlights when I went to his salon for my hair cuts - sorry - to get my hair styled. He allowed me to pay for the styling but never charged for making me blonde again. He was always generous in spirit as well. He was a good man and a good friend.

Fred (Rick) Miller (1976)

I haven't been in touch with Patrick since leaving Sao Paulo in mid-73, but was very sad to hear of his passing. I remember he was a great guy, outgoing and friendly with a huge, warm smile and great hair. It was hard to compete with Patrick for the attention of the girls. They just loved him! (Tica, it's not possible that you're frumpy! ;- ) Seems like the world might be a sadder place without Patrick. I'm glad to have known him and to have some scrapbook photos and of course, yearbook memories. Wow, what a shame. -Rick Miller (aka "Fred" or "Rabbit")

Lidian Pereira (1976)

Patrick had so many great qualities. He was kind, wise, and as others have noted, very generous. We had many late night "chats" on Facebook where I marveled at his ability to see beyond the veneer of life. Patrick's ability to bring out the best in people went far beyond his successful career as a stylist. He had great heart, wit, and soul, and I will miss him very much.

Betty Layman (Martin) (1973)

As a young man at Graded Patrick always had a quick wit and the soul of a wise man. As an adult he became a supportive and positive friend to so many. How fortunate we were to re-connect with him and share in his life. A great loss to his friends and even greater loss to his family. The bullies in heaven how have a friend!

Mary Lulek (Ottarson) (1976)

I remember Patrick as being just a really nice guy to everyone. His big brown eyes and his kind personality made him unforgettable. My condolences to his family. Mary Lulek-Ottarson

Gayle Comer (Pucci) (1976)

Patrick had the ability to see what many of us miss. He saw potential.
He cared deeply. He reached out. He welcomed. He shared generously.
The world will be a poorer place without him.
I will miss you Patrick.

Francis C. Zanger (1973)

Remember thy servant Patrick, O Lord, according to the favor which thou bearest unto thy people, and grant that, increasing in knowledge and love of thee, he may go from strength to strength in the life of perfect service in thy Kingdom. May his soul rest in peace; may light perpetual shine upon him. Canon Francis C. Zanger+ Vila Nova de Gaia, PT

Mitchell Schonholz (1976)

Even though I left Brazil in '72, I still remeber Patrick well. He was a warm, kind and friendly person who obviously touched many lives. My prayers and sympathies go out to his family. May he rest in peace.

Paulo Silveira (1976)

In seventh grade, I was always amazed at how he was not shy about approaching girls. Gosh, how I wish I had his nerve back then! And when he started going out with Karine?!? I was so impressed! Patrick was a very nice guy, and liked by everyone.

John Horner (1976)

Patrick was the first person I met in Brasil.  Our fathers were business associates and  they met us at the airport.  He took me under his wing and stuck with me the first week at school, introducing me to friends, etc.  He was strikingly handsome and had eyebrows like I have never seen.  He was full of life.  A good friend.
