 I am sending Dad's obituary and the details of his service.  Thanks to all of you that have responded to my earlier email.  All of the kind words mean so much during this time. 

 
A few weeks ago at age 88 Bob decided to become a blogger.  When setting up the “About Me” link, Bob directed that we enter the following to describe this “Bob” guy:
 
A farm kid, A short basketball player, A collegiate, A soldier, A happily married man for 67 years, A teacher, A coach, A school superintendent, A real estate broker, A scribbler, A thinker.  He was all of these things and more!  We will add:  A dad, A grandpa, An Adventurer, A Benefactor, A storyteller.  He lived life to the fullest and on his terms!  We will be forever blessed by his example.  Visit his blog where we will continue to share his wonderful stories:  http://mathiasjr.blogspot.com
 
He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Lois.  He is survived by his son Conde and wife Sylvia, son Tim and wife Wanda, daughter & her husband Sheri & Joe Hansen, daughter & her husband Cindi & Carl Wilson, sister and her husband June & Chuck Grove, brother and his wife Joe & Nancy Mathias and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was the beloved grandpa of Justin & Marija Mathias, Nils & Tabatha Mathias, Ken & Rachel Hansen, Tyy & Lisa Hansen, Karen Hansen, Matt Wilson, Jenna & John Hibbard, Landon & Tara Wilson, Pam & Nick Smith, David Mathias & Joshua Mathias and had 5 great grandchildren.
 
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 3pm at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds Apple Hall in Boonville, CA.  The celebration will be followed by a potluck gathering.
