I attended the  funeral home visitation yesterday that was held for Gary's many friends and family members.  He was much loved and his great sense of humor will always be in our memories.  I talked for a short time with his wife, Jean, and his 3 children, Lisa, Ben and Jordan.  The kids are quite quite good looking, as you can imagine, and had a bearing that reflected good parenting.  Jean was holding quite well and was glad to have a Saxonburg presence.   I have never seen so many dark suits and silk ties.  Gary was always a sharp dresser and his final outing was no exception.  He had on his signature round frame glasses with one extra pair in his suit pocket.  Gary was the last of his direct family since his Dad, Romie, brother, Fred, and Mom, Jeanne, had already passed.  I traveled to the Lawrenceville viewing with our friend Les Passarelli.  It was good to exchange Cabot, Marwood, Saxonburg and W&J stories.  We are all in the Passing Lane right now.  I hope you are as fortunate as I have been.  Let us be thankful for what we have and the friendships that we have made as classmates in the Knoch class of 1964.

Till we meet again,

Alan Cypher

Gary's passing is so sad.  I moved away from western Pennsylvania shortly after college and law school and have not been able to stay in touch with the class, but I've always had a special spot for my classmates and the football team from my era.  Gary, Alan, Ron, Jon, Tom, Charlie, Vic and all of the others made the hard work at practice fun.  I remember Gary playing games with his broken wrist in a cast... or was it a war club?  I have followed the careers of many of my classmates and I'm sorry so many years have gone by since seeing them.  Gary achieved much in his career, but that was no surprise.  He was always an over achiever.  I will always have the memories.  Gary's family are in my prayers.
