John Andrew Yellenik, 68, of Butler, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born August 24, 1946 in Butler, PA, the son of the late John J. and Mary (Smaretsky) Yellenik.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Oak Hills Christian Church and a Mason from Wm H. Miller Lodge. He was an avid corvette fan who owned several over the years. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking, garage sales and collecting antique furniture. He was an amateur photographer and did stained glass work and calligraphy. He received his Bachelor's of Science degree from Geneva College. John retired from Pressure Chemical Company in January 2015.
Surviving are his wife, Glenna (Barr)Yellenik of Butler; a daughter, Jodi (Jason) Byers of Shelocta, PA; granddaughters, Kaylee and Kenzie Byers; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and brother and sister-in-laws.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11AM at Oak Hills Christian Church, 113 Township Line Rd., Butler 16002.
