Back in Edgemont, I commonly viewed Marty as an anachronism; tough, short-haired with the ubiquitous black leather jacket as compared with the long-haired, free flowing garb of the post-siixties. Then I remember a basketball game Edgemont played at Dobbs Ferry one night that was a contentious game which I believe we won. On the way to the parking lot a group of us were confronted by a bunch of disgruntled Dobbs Ferrian students. Things were tense and escalting as the first punch was yet to be delived although the verbal proddings were climbing. Something like a rugby scrum. Out of nowhere appears Marty in the face of the biggest potential combatent and says, "Either fiight or get the hell out of here!" The faceoff disipated like a snow flurry. Not only was Marty tough, but he was also a peacemaker! Rest in peace, Marty!
Nice comment ricky I remember that happening and your description of him as anachronism is insightful and has the ring f being the truth. Thanks for gaming my memory RIP Marty
