Nancy and I grew up together and not only in school. We shared membership at Zion Lutheran Church (she of German descent and I of Estonian on my father's side) and as teenagers, we were the "rowdys" of the church youth group and the bane of the counselors.So many delightful memories.
Nancy always reminded me of Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, spirited, a free soul, and a gentle lady, always dressed perfectly. When I married, she was one of my bridesmaids - a lovely one. As our lives went in totally different directions, we drifted apart, but when she passed, I attended her funeral - one of the saddest days of my life. She left the world way too soon.
