Dr. William A. Busino, Jr., 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Schenectady, son of the late Dr. Mary (Rowley) Busino and Dr. William A. Busino, Sr. He graduated from Linton High School, earned his Bachelor's Degree from Union College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa Class of 1971, and earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College. Following in his parents' footsteps, Bill faithfully served his community for more than forty years practicing at Internal Medicine Balltown Rd. and was beloved within the community and by his patients. He was the President of Capital Care Medical Group, an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Albany Medical College, an Assistant Instructor in Medicine at Albany Medical College, and an Attending Physician at Ellis Hospital and Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital. Bill served on more than a dozen professional committees over the years where his expertise and wisdom were always counted on. He also lent his leadership to community boards such as Camp Chingachgook/YMCA, D.A.R.E and Haven, and was the recipient of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant for the Chronic Disease Care Program. Bill was a lifelong Catholic and a longtime member of the Mohawk Golf Club. Bill enjoyed skiing and fly fishing in Vermont and had a passion for woodworking, especially when with his grandson, Mason. Above all, Bill cherished his family, friends and his patients. He married the love his life Cheryl (Coppola) Busino on March 10, 1979.
