Michael Callahan

Michael T. Callahan, 72, of Schenectady passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at home after a long illness. Born in Schenectady on November 8, 1949, he was the son of Arliene Parks Callahan and the late Joseph P. Callahan. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1968 graduate of Linton High School. Michael worked for many years for Matthew Bender & Co. in Albany and for the past several years worked part-time for the Hertz Car Rental Co. in Albany. Michael was an avid horse racing fan and enjoyed spending time in Saratoga Springs with his brother Keith. He also enjoyed summers at the ocean in Rhode Island and spending time at Thompson Lake in Berne. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, DonnaLee Kearns; children, Kelly (Randy) Perkins and Sara (Dan) Bosworth; stepchildren, StaciAnn Cole and Brian Kearns; grandson, Devin Perkins; step-grandson, Joshua Cole; siblings, Keith R. Callahan, Therese J. (Jim Splaine) Howley, Lawrence A. (Frances) Callahan, Caryn A. (H.Thomas) Weaver, and Christine M. (Kyle) Siegel; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Crystal Loomis for her kind and gentle care for Michael and to StacieAnn for her care and dedication to our brother. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave., Menands. Michael was on the 50th reunion committee, and is fondly remembered for his contributions to the committee.
